THE FATHER AND THE SON

"No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6

Why did Jesus say this? The only way we can understand why is by understanding what the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are. Jesus was a manifestation of Truth or the Word of God. 

Truth or the Word of God is the SON. In olden days, the son meant the offspring of something. What is Truth the offspring of?

Truth is the offspring of Love. So, Love is the FATHER. Love is the formless substance.

Jesus also said this to the woman of Samaria:

"Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth."

So, Jesus, here is stating that the Father is Love or the formless substance and that we should worship him in spirit or within our own heart and consciousness. We should not make an image or concept of this substance or spirit in our mind because it is formless.

Now, Jesus also said, "No one comes to the Father except through me."

Since he was a manifestation of Truth, this means that the only way you can get to Love is through Truth. And when we understand how powerful the New Testament is, we understand how true Jesus' statement is.

THE POWER OF THE WORD

Jesus also made another remarkable statement:

"The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life." John 6:63

That is right. Words of Truth are food for the soul. The words in the Bible and especially in the N. T. are the most powerful things in the universe.

By digesting or understanding the Truth, we create the life and substance of our soul. That substance is Love.

Jesus then said to them, "I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you."John 6:53

Most everyone is baffled by these words. But, when we decipher them, the flesh and blood are simply Divine Love and Wisdom. Divine Love/Wisdom is a real substance. In fact, it is more real than matter. Matter is temporal; it can be destroyed and transformed. But Love/Wisdom is eternal and indestructible. Human beings foolishly worry about the state of their physical body instead of trying to build their soul.

If we do not have any Love and Wisdom within our being, we have no Life within us and we are as good as dead. Without Love and Wisdom, our soul is dying. And, when our soul begins to die, our physical body also becomes ill and withers.

THE HOLY SPIRIT

Everything in the universe has purpose, cause and use because this trinity is in God from the beginning. The FATHER, SON and HOLY SPIRIT correspond to DIVINE LOVE, DIVINE TRUTH AND DIVINE ACTIVITY.

The Holy Spirit is God's presence, power and activity in the universe. Love expresses itself as Truth or beautiful ideas and these ideas manifest as uses in the universe.

If you are perceptive, you will see the work of the Holy Spirit everywhere. This is God in power and activity.

All the beautiful trees, flowers, plants and fruits are expressing God's Love and Truth in the world. All the gentle animals, the sheep, lambs, cows, birds and horses are expressing Love and Truth by their usefulness to man.

Human beings are also free to become an expression of God's Love and Truth by being useful, merciful, kind, forgiving and loving. We receive the Holy Spirit from the Truth and Love that is within us and we express it in the outer world.
