You may have heard the expression "It is darkest before the dawn." Well, this is a scientific truth. The moment when things seem to be at their worse in our life, is the moment when they are about to enter a new cycle or a new beginning. Nothing stands still in the universe, everything is motivated by love to evolve and to involve. The universe is designed to not let us become fixed in old patterns. Our consciousness must continually evolve.  

If you look at our model of reality, you will understand what is happening. The analogy is like the cycle of Dawn, Day, Dusk, Night, Dawn...When we awake in the morning, we are full of energy and ready to tackle the work and problems of the day. But, when dusk or evening comes around, we are depleted, tired and unable to do anything. We go to sleep or implode into our self to replenish our energy. When we are asleep, we stand still in the One.

So far, this is easy to understand. Now, we would like to apply this principle to the times when our soul is in darkness. This is when we seem devastated. For example, when we are diagnosed with some disease or when our supply has run out. This is more difficult to understand. This is when we see the giant Goliath coming towards us. We see destruction coming with our physical senses. We are headed toward the black hole or the dark night of the soul.

Everyone was afraid of Goliath, except David. Goliath represents seeming difficult circumstances. But the Lord said "Do not judge by appearances....judge by righteous judgment..." What is righteous judgment? It is when we judge with spiritual discernment or understanding.

That is why David was not afraid of Goliath or appearances. What did David do? He went to the river of water [Truth] to fetch five small smooth stones [five senses]. The stones were smooth because David could sense the Truth with his five senses. He made the senses ONE, spiritual sense. He knocked out Goliath [difficult appearances] with the Oneness of Truth.

When we do the same, we have passed through the black hole into a new universe by standing STILL in the ONENESS of Truth and Love. We did not let our being be  disturbed by appearances. If we do not let appearances shake us from the Peace of Truth and Love, no harm can come to us. And, when we pass through the black hole, our life will never be same. It is a new dawn. This is how faith and love grows.
