PERFECT STILLNESS
NOTHING IS HAPPENING Walter Russell said that nothing is happening in Reality, in the universe. Why? The universe is in perfect balance and dynamic stillness. This can be perfectly illustrated by a seesaw. Notice that the fulcrum or center always remains balanced and still no matter what happens on the two opposite sides. This fulcrum represents the Mind and Love of God. God [consciousness/love] is the power and cause of all events in the universe. But the Mind of God is always still and peaceful. Now, we know that most human beings are not centered or harmonized with the Love/Truth of the Mind of God. Human desires, thoughts, emotions and actions are represented by the motion of the seesaw. But notice what happens when one side goes down. As one side comes down, the opposite side automatically goes up. The action is automatically voided by an opposite reaction. And balance or justice is always preserved. It is as if nothing has happened. Well, actually events are happening in the temporal world of man but, in the realm of harmony, oneness and reality, nothing is disturbed. What can we learn from this Truth? The personal desires, thoughts, emotions and actions which are not in harmony with the will of God [Love/Truth] are continually creating undesirable reactions. We must understand that the man on the right side is the same man that is on the left side. The man on the right side is experiencing the effects or reactions of his past desires, thoughts, emotions and actions. Cause and effect are One. But, in our lower world, the effects take time to manifest or unfold. This is why we must accept every circumstance that comes our way; this event is simply the effect of our past intentions, likes, dislikes, beliefs and actions. There is no other cause. The fulcrum of the seesaw represents our free will. This is our connection to God. We have been given the free will to think, believe, love, intend and do whatever we wish. But we must experience the consequences or reactions. POWER The fulcrum of stillness is also the center of absolute power. Notice that we do not have to do anything to have absolute power in our world. In fact, we have to become very still...We have to surrender to the Omnipotence of God that is within us. We never use force to restore justice and order. If we remain still in the balance and Love of God, justice will automatically be restored. Evil always contains the seed of its own destruction. Evil intentions, thoughts and actions are automatically voided by self-imprisonment and suffering. We must just make sure that we are sending out Love into the universe and Love will be reflected. This is why Jesus said: "But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also." Matthew 5:39 No-one and nothing can do us harm in the universe because any suffering that we may endure is self-created. We are the only person that can create our suffering. If someone strikes us, it must be the reflection of our past actions. The universe is a mirror. The man on the left and the man on the right of the seesaw are the same man. When they were faced with the Egyptians behind them and the Red sea [hell] before them, Moses said to the Israelites: "Stand still, and watch the salvation of the Lord." Moses knew the power of stillness. When we are in any kind of seeming trouble or difficult circumstances, the best thing we can do is to still the mind and take our attention away from the problem. Instead, we must meditate upon the Truth and Love of God. Walter Russell calls it "decentrating." You see, when we are faced with a problem, we are concentrating on it. We are hypnotized by the world of our physical senses. To dissolve the problem, we must "decentrate" or return to the Mind of God. In the Mind of God, there is no particular thought. Thoughts create motion in spiritual substance. And this spiritual motion produces or manifests as matter. But, in the Mind of God, there are only the harmonious or Divine Ideas of Love and Truth. Love is the substance that has the power to dissolve every problem. God said: "Be still, and know that "I AM" God.", "Take no thought for your life...." and "Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?" Why? Because personal thought is motion; it creates reactions. But the still Mind of God [Awareness] restores balance, harmony, wholeness, health and abundance in our life through Love and Truth. In the Kingdom of God is the perfect plan and manifestation. The fulcrum of the seesaw is not static; it is continually sending out infinite harmonic waves. This is the "Word of God" or Divine Truth united with Divine Love. Love/Truth creates, sustains, maintains, restores, heals all beings in the universe. It is now clearer to see that the suffering we encounter is a reaction which is meant to restore balance and harmony in our life. BALANCED ACTION Now, to be still does not mean that we become passive and inert. We exist to do the will of God and to witness and reveal His glory. Therefore, we should always act in a balanced or righteous manner when the need arises. But our intentions, thoughts and actions must always be in harmony with Love/Truth. Whenever we intend, think and do anything, we must simultaneously be conscious of the reaction. We must make sure that the reaction does not cause harm to others. Since the universe is a mirror, causing harm to others is causing harm to ourself. In fact, the universe was designed for "rhythmic balanced interchange". This is how Divine Love is expressed or put into effect in the universe, by giving and re-giving. When we give love to others, the universe re-gives or returns this love to us as abundance, health and joy.
