NATURE AND SPIRIT

OUTER SPACE AND INNER STATE

Most human beings assume that they live in outer physical space. This is because they identify with their physical body. They believe that they are their physical body. But this is only one half of the Truth. The other half of the Truth is that they live in an inner state of feelings and thoughts.

Our feelings are derived from our will or what we love and our thoughts are derived from what we believe to be true or our understanding of the universe. So, our will and understanding may be called our inner "soul."

Now, the question is, what is the relationship between soul and body? Like the physical universe, the physical body  must be an effect. And the inner state or soul of man subsists in the realm of purpose, cause and use.

This means that it is our inner state that is the purpose, cause and use of our physical body and outer reality.

Now, if man consists of outer body and inner state, we may assume that the universe also consists of outer space and inner state.

NATURAL AND SPIRITUAL SUBSTANCE

We know that the natural substance of the universe is space and matter (light). But what is the inner or spiritual substance of the universe? 

Since the primordial substance of our soul is our will or what we love, the inner substance of the universe must be  Universal Love. Love is the spiritual substance of the universe.

Love is what motivates the whole universe. Love is the spiritual fire that drives and transforms the whole universe.

NATURAL AND SPIRITUAL FORM

Our body consists of matter or natural substance, cells, molecules, atoms and quanta. But this natural substance is arranged or organized into a natural human form. This is just a fact.

In the same way, the substance of our soul or our will is arranged in the form of our understanding. And our understanding is what we believe to be true.

Therefore,  the spiritual form of the universe must be Truth or pure Consciousness or Awareness. Within this Awareness are the ideal forms or perfect ideas of God. This is where the beautiful natural forms that we see in the natural world derive their existence.

Natural substance or Light corresponds to Love.

And beautiful natural forms (species) correspond to the perfect ideas in Truth. 

"I, OF MINE OWN SELF CAN DO NOTHING, IT IS THE FATHER IN ME WHO DOETH THE WORK."

Now we understand why Jesus made such a statement.

A human being is simply a recipient or vessel of Love and Truth.

The will of man receives Love from God. And the understanding of man receives Truth from God.

Without Love and Truth, a human being would be destitute; he would be lost in the spiritual desert of despair and confusion.

But, when Love and Truth are flowing through our soul, we have the power of the whole universe at our disposal. 

When our will is ONE with the will of our spiritual Father or Divine Love, we are not really doing anything of our own. We are simply displaying the power and glory of God.

MAGNETISM AND ELECTRICITY

Now, we know that the natural substance of the universe is Light or the electro-magnetic field. And the electromagnetic field is composed of magnetism and electricity. These two fields are always at right angles to each other. Wherever there is electricity in nature, we can find the magnetic field centering it. In fact, this is even true of every electrically neutral entity. For example, the earth has its own magnetic field, which is almost congruent with its axis of rotation.

Electricity is always polar or positive and negative. But magnetism centers or equilibrates these two poles. The right angle is analogous to righteousness.

Every material entity is polarized through electricity and harmonized through magnetism. Physical transformations occur through exchange of electrons but the electromagnetic field of Light remains in equilibrium.

By correspondence, Divine Love must equilibrate or harmonize the polarities we find in the human world.

Divine Love harmonizes and transcends the polarity of human personal attachments and aversions, positive and negative emotions. We like our friends but we dislike our enemies.

Divine Truth harmonizes and transcends the polarity of human mortal mind which consists of human truth and falsehood, positive and negative thoughts.

Divine Bliss transcends the polarity of human joy and sorrow.

Human life is polar by nature. There is a perpetual fluctuation between light and darkness, spirit and matter. When the human heart is empty of Love, we are in sorrow. When it is filled with Love, we are in joy.

When the human mind [understanding] is empty of Truth, we are confused. When it is filled with Truth, we are enlightened.

But Jesus said:" Love your enemies...", "Turn the other cheek..." Why?

This is how we transcend human polarity [good and evil] and return to the harmony of Divine Love and Truth.
