WILL AND DESIRE
These days, many people confuse will and desire. This is because they are told that, if they want to manifest anything in their life, they just have to desire or WILL it. If this were true then every one woul be rich, healthy and happy by now. It is certainly true that we must first will something before we can manifest it. But our Will has the highest probability of being manifested if it is in accordance with the will of God.
This is why we must differentiate between our real or spiritual will and our natural desires. Our spiritual will is in accordance with the selfless, loving, just and merciful will of God; but our natural desires are usually egotistical.
Therefore it is not whether we want something that matters ; it is WHY we want it.
Two persons may want money to start a new business. One may want a business that will benefit the whole community while the other may want his business just to satisfy his greed and lust.
Since the forces that descend from Heaven are always re-establishing equilibrium and promoting Goodness, mercy and justice, when our wants are in harmony with Heaven, we have all the forces of the universe at our disposal to realize what we Will.

EGOTISTICAL DESIRES
It is normal to want good food, nice clothes and a lovely house to live in. But to believe that it is these necessities of life that will make us happy is an illusion.
Many persons want to win the lottery so they can stop working, be served by others and be better than they are. This is their idea of happiness. This is a lie or an illusion. In fact, Swedenborg, who could see into the spiritual world, discovered that angels, who are always filled with Heavenly joy, want exactly the opposite.
The most joyous angels are the meekest and their only desire is to serve and be uselful to others and the Lord.
Therefore to believe that money will give us eternal joy is a lie or falsehood. The Truth is that, for human beings, eternal joy can only be derived by being creative, useful and loving to others.
You may have noticed this in the behavior of billionaires. After all, if you are a billionaire, the last thing you need is more money. But, most billionaires continue to work and expand their empire. If they are simply greedy, it must be because their desire has not been satisfied. And, if they are selfless, it is because the only place they can derive their joy is by being useful and creative.
Does this mean that we should not want to have nice things in our life? Of course not. But it is our attitude towards these things that matters.
REAL OR SPIRITUAL WILL
Our real will is our divine pattern or our place in Heaven.
Our will is what we really want in the depths of our being because it is the reason we exist.
Every human being has been created with a unique will.
There is something we can do in the universe which no one else can do. And we can do this work because we have been endowed with certain unique powers.
When we choose to realize our will, the whole of Heaven is ready to help us.
This is because the realization of our real will benefits the whole universe.
