UNIVERSAL TRUTHS

God is the Universal Spirit that diffuses itself over all Nature. All Beings receive their Life from Him. There is but Only One God, who is not - as some are apt to imagine - seated above the World, beyond the orb of the Universe... But being Himself All-in-All, He sees all the Beings that fill His Immensity - the Only Principle, the Light of Heaven, the Father of All. He produces everything. He orders and disposes of all things. He IS the Reason the Life and Motion of all things. (Pythagoras)

There is a correspondence between LIGHT and TRUTH, between darkness and falsehood.

There is a difference between LIGHT and darkness, REALITY and fantasy, GOOD and evil, TRUTH and falsehood.

Like darkness is simply a lack of LIGHT, fantasy is a lack of REALITY, evil is a lack of GOOD and falsehood is a lack of TRUTH.

Like LIGHT makes darkness disappear, REALITY diffuses fantasy, GOOD dissolves evil and TRUTH uncovers all lies.

It is a self-evident TRUTH that REALITY is not only physical or natural but also psychological or spiritual.
 
Natural TRUTHS or facts can be perceived by the natural senses but spiritual TRUTHS can only be perceived by Divine Revelations.

These spiritual TRUTHS are validated by the Science of Correspondences.

1. The source of all being is infinite REALITY or GOD. GOD is ONE, OMNIPRESENT, OMNISCIENT and OMNIPOTENT.

2. The Substance of REALITY is GOODNESS >> DIVINE LOVE- DIVINE LOVE cannot love itself; it can only delight in the joy of another.

3. The Form of REALITY is TRUTH >> DIVINE WISDOM >> HEAVEN

4. Infinite REALITY realizes itself infinitely by means of involution and evolution.

5. The oneness of DIVINE LOVE involves by propagating itself in the many WISE, useful and BEAUTIFUL FORMS of EXISTENCE (minerals, vegetables, animals, humans).

6. These many forms of EXISTENCE evolve by willingly realizing their HOLY ESSENCE and reuniting with LOVE through the GOOD or selfless uses of DIVINE WISDOM in HEAVEN.   This evolution culminates in the realization of angels in HEAVEN from the human race.

7. Human beings can also freely choose to love themselves and the world through the evil or selfish abuses of falsehood in hell. Hell attempts to propagate itself in the many malicious, useless and ugly forms of existence, but it is continually restrained and contained by the Lord and his angels.

THE PRICE OF FREDOM

Many people do not understand why a Good, merciful and loving God would allow evil and hell in His universe.

Evil and hell are the price that has to be paid in order to preserve freedom in the universe. 

Love has to be free; in fact, it is freedom itself.

The will of God is Divine Love itself.

If there were no real Love or freedom in the universe, the universe would be a meaningless and repetitive machine. 

The universe is alive, beautiful, meaningful , dramatic and interesting because there is freedom and uncertainty.

Human beings can willingly choose to love Goodness and Truth but they always have the freedom and choice to be egotistical, hateful and abusive.

And it is not because a few individuals have chosen to be selfish, cruel, hateful and destructive that the universe is a terrible place.

In the end, all evil can do is to self-destruct.

Evil makes a lot of noise but it has no real power whatsoever.

All power belongs to the Lord and the universe continues to progress according to Divine Wisdom and Providence.

WE CREATE OUR OWN REALITY

We create our own Heaven or our own hell by our loves and beliefs.

For example, if we choose to be competitive, selfish and egotistical, we create a dark spiritual prison where no warmth, Light, Wisdom or Love can enter.

If we choose to be creative, selfless and useful to others, we participate with other loving beings in the wide open spaces and atmospheres of Heaven which is enlightened and enlivened by the Divine Love and Wisdom of the Lord.

Those who find themselves in the prisons of their selfishness have freely chosen to be there. But they can always change their mind.

OUR LIFE IS MOTIVATED BY WHAT WE LOVE

Some of us believe that they will be happy if they have a lot of money. And so their whole life is driven by their love of money.

Others believe that power or glory will make them happy. They thereby sacrifice everything in their pursuit for worldly power and glory.

Still others believe that satisfying their instinctive desires will make them happy and so they continually indulge in the pleasures of the world.

This means that what we love is closely tied to what we believe will make us happy.

If we have tried all these ways to happiness and we are still miserable, it means that our beliefs are false and our loves are not Good.

We need to discover what is really True and Good.

According to Swedenborg, Heaven is a kingdom of uses, and all joy in Heaven is derived from being creative, useful and loving to others and the Lord. Human beings are simply recipients of Divine Love and Wisdom. And the Truth is that, if we did not receive Love and Wisdom from the Lord, we would be helpless, powerless and destitute.
