THE OLD AND NEW TESTAMENT

The whole Bible is really about the evolution of human consciousness.

For example, in the Old Testament, we read that the children of Israel were in bondage in Egypt. Egypt is an egotistical state of human consciousness where our being is restrained by means of many psychological barriers.

Pharaoh represents our ego. If you have read the story, you know that Pharaoh was very hard of heart like our selfish ego.

Then we have the psychological state called "Moses".

Moses goes up to Mount Sinai and receives the Ten Comandments from God or "I AM". This is the raising of our consciousness from the state of the selfish ego to a place where the psychological Laws are not so harsh.

We obtain this state by staying connected to God who is in our inner being. God is the the Infinite Being or "I AM" that is in our spiritual world.

We remain in the state called "Moses" by obeying the Ten Commandments.

The Ten Commandments are really about staying true to our higher spiritual principles and not being swerved or fooled by outer appearances.

The Old Testament ends with the death of the psychological state called "Moses".

Then, we are given a New Testament which is about a higher state of consciousness called "Jesus Christ".

WHAT IS THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN?

The whole New Testament speaks about a new state of consciousness called the "Kingdom of Heaven".

Now Jesus specifically says not to look for the Kingdom of Heaven outside yourself because it is WITHIN yourself. The whole spiritual universe is within our inner self.

Then we read once again that Jesus goes up to a high mountain or a very elevated state of consciousness and speaks to his Father who is in Heaven. Then he comes down and tells others how they should think if they want to reach this new exalted state. They must repent and change their mind from the state called "Moses" to the sate called "Jesus Christ".

Heaven is a very high state of consciousness where our inner being is enlightened by the Spiritual Light or Truth of God.

Our Father, God or "I AM" is in our inner spiritual world. We can make contact with God by means of consciousness. God is omnipresent Awareness, an Awareness that is beyond thoughts and concepts.

Now, when the people around Jesus were worrying about what to eat, what to wear and all other physical needs, he told them that their Father knows that they need these things to survive in the physical world. But these things are not what is important for human beings. What is important is that you change your mind (or repent) so that you can reach a new state of consciousness called "the Kingdom of Heaven." When you reach that state your outer world will automatically be a manifestation of your beautiful inner Reality.

In order to reach the Kingdom of Heaven, we must obey certain inner laws.

We must forgive every one their trespasses and then our own subconscious will be clear. This is the Law of forgiveness or Grace. This is a higher Law than the law of sowing and reaping. If we obey this higher Law, we will reap what we have not sown. We will get a lot more than we deserve. God will forgive or erase our own sins and we will not have to pay for them.

We must turn the other cheek. What does this mean? It means that if someone hurts us we must not wish to hurt him back. Not only that, we must wish him well. (And this feeling must be sincere, not superficial). This is the Law of Non-resistance. Once again, this keeps our subconscious clear.

We must love God above everything else. In other words, we must understand that everything that happens in our outer world is caused by the "I AM" that is in our inner world. The physical world is a world of effects. There are no outer causes. God causes everything from the inner spiritual world. We must not be fooled by appearances. We must love God because every Good that we obtain is coming from our inner spiritual world and being manifested in the outer world.

We must love our neighbor as our own self. Why? Because the "I AM" or God that is within every human being is the same God or " I AM." If we do any harm to any other human being, we are doing it to God. Instead, we should elevate every one so they can begin to experience the Goodness and Truth of God that is within their own being.

When we really understand the Bible, we see how the human spirit has emanated from the Light of God and descended into the darkness of matter and then how it redeems itself by the Grace of God and returns to the realm of spiritual Light which is the Kingdom of Heaven. 

Here, we see the ultimate purpose of the universe. God created us so He would have friends or sons close to Him in Heaven. Our relationship with God and the friends and sons of God is Divine Love itself. This is the greatest wonder of all. There is no one that is closer to us than God. We just have to be fully Aware of the omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent Reality. This Reality is eternally HERE and NOW.
