Being and Doing

DOING = 1/BEING

What this equation says is that the more we ARE (real), the less we have to do.

Most people are operating from their natural ego, which is a false, selfish or unreal identity based on their body, their past memories and future desires. And so they are trying to fix their life by doing more and more. But all they accomplish is the creation of more problems.

Our real self or being is a still center of consciousness that is in correspondence with the harmony of Heaven.

When we operate from real being, we notice that the universe is imbedded with a Divine Pattern that is realizing itself and there is very little that we need to do.

Sometimes we just have to be patient and wait for the pattern to realize itself. At other times, we have to take action when the right opportunity presents itself.

But most of the time we should stand still and watch the pattern realize itself.

What this means is that we should concentrate more on being than doing.

We must make sure that our intentions, thoughts and emotions are aligned with the harmony of Heaven.

If we want actions to be right and True, our being must be True.

Our intentions must be pure, our thoughts must be useful and creative, and our emotions must be joyful and loving. This is the real work that we have to do.

If you have ever watched animals, you may have noticed that they have no problems.

And it is not because they are stupid that they have no problems; it is because they have real BEING, they live in the Omnipresent Now and they are in harmony with Heaven.

In contrast, human beings live in the illusions of their mind; they waste their time worrying about their past and future.

Sometimes I have seen birds flying at incredible speeds and never hitting any obstacle in their way. This is because their actions are in perfect harmony with the Divine Pattern. They act with faith and certainty.

There is no doubt that human beings have lost this faith and certainty; they are full of fear and doubt.

Swedenborg says that animals are in Divine Order but human beings are not.

Somehow, we have lost our connection with Heaven and we must regain it.

Our selfish ego thinks it is smarter than Heaven. It schemes, calculates, tries to fix its problems and accomplishes nothing but the creation of more illusions and problems.

How can you fix something that has not come into existence yet? The ego is always worrying about future problems.

The only problems that we have to fix are the problems that are occuring now. And most of the time there are no problems now.

And by worrying about our future problems we are in effect creating them by the law of attraction.

The ego needs all kinds of negativity to stay alive. When we are joyful and fully present in the Now, the ego must disappear.

You will hear the ego say:"What am I doing enjoying myself when I should be worrying about my future! I am wasting my time enjoying myself; I should be doing something to fix my future!"

When it is gliding upon the crystal clear water on a sunny day, does a duck worry about what it will eat tonight?

No, it trusts the universe for its providence.

But, while they are sitting in a park, human beings are worrying about their retirement.

They do not understand that, if they keep worrying this way. they will probably be dead before their retirement

We cannot change our life by doing anything.

The way we change our life is by changing our being. When our being changes, our life will change to match our being.

Our being is a sphere of vibrating energy that attracts people and circumstances of similar frequency.

By the circumstances, events and people in our life, we can determine the nature of our being.

If we keep attracting negative people and destructive events, it is because our being is vibrating at their frequency.

In the natural world, all things operate in the same way. Bees are only attracted by certain flowers and flies are attracted by excrement.

Similarly, what we love and believe determines our being and our being attracts the circumstances and people in our life.

Once we raise the level of our being to a sphere of Love and Wisdom, we will discover that many of our problems will have disappeared and we will not need to do very much.

But we must continually watch our intentions and thoughts.
