In the Word, it is written " Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. " Mattew 7:7-8.

I always wondered why it is that we have to ask, seek or knock. After all, if we are sick, poor or ignorant, God should know that we want to heal, to be rich and to be wise. And, if he really loved us, why would he leave us in our misery?

But then one day, while watching a beggar in the street, I realized why. The outer world has nothing to give us. We can beg all day or even work and struggle all day and we will have nothing to show for it. All the beauty and richness that we see in the world is a manifestation of the Good that is in our inner reality or the spiritual world.

If we want anything, we must elevate our mind into Heaven. This is where all the Goods are. Heaven has gates or doors. Only those who understand the wisdom and obey the Laws of Heaven can knock and be allowed in. When you are in Heaven, you can then ask or plant a good seed in spiritual substance. You can then expect this seed to manifest in the physical world.

Some people think that it is unfair that some are born in luxury while others in poverty. But real wealth and poverty are not physical circumstances; they are states of mind. And every one is born with the same potential to be really wealthy.

Does God give less to a beggar than he gives to others? No! A beggar is poor because he has false beliefs. He believes that the abundance of the universe is in the outer world. Every one has the same access to the abundance of the universe but they must seek, knock and ask in the spiritual world. To seek is to want to understand Wisdom, to knock is to have the courage and faith to rise into Heaven, and to ask is to will what is good and useful. 

This seeking, knocking and asking must come from our own will because the Divine Love that is in Heaven is freedom itself.

THE UNIVERSE GIVES ABUNDANTLY

The universe gives continuously and abundantly.

It is selfish man that hoards. 

Suppose you wanted some apples to bake an apple pie. If you ask human beings for these goods, they will weigh a few apples, count them and make you pay for them. 

They will make you pay for something they obtained freely from the universe.

Now, suppose you asked the universe instead, what would happen?

You would need  to find a tiny seed that someone had discarded after eating an apple. And all you would need to do is plant this seed in the soil and wait. 

One day, you would  find a large tree in your backyard that produces about a hundred apples every year. 

This would be more than enough for your needs. However, if you really needed it, the first year you could plant one hundred seeds and produce a hundred new trees which could produce a hundred apples each. That would make ten thousand apples. Then, of course, you could plant ten thousand seeds and obtain one million apples. Then you could....

This is universal abundance. This is true in all of nature. But human beings see scarcity because their mind is small and egotistical.

WEALTH IS SPIRITUAL

Most people think that to be wealthy is to have a lot of money. But, in truth, wealth is spiritual. 

Real wealth is faith in the generosity,  kindness and providence of God. It is this faith that frees you from the fear of being needy, not the pieces of paper in your pocket.

A greedy and miserly person may have a lot of money but he is not wealthy because he is always afraid to lose his fortune and become a beggar. 

On the other hand, a wealthy man is never afraid to lose all his fortune because he still has faith that God will take care of him.

MONEY CORRESPONDS TO USEFULNESS

A greedy man who hoards his money and never uses it has absolutely nothing but pieces of paper and illusions in his mind. He falsely believes that he is powerful.

In contrast, a really wealthy man uses his money to create new opportunities for every one and, in return, receives even more wealth.     

Therefore, when we ask God for wealth, we are not asking for pieces of paper, we are asking for faith in his providence and for the power to be giving and useful. This is real wealth.

Every human being is ready to pay for something that will be useful to himself. All creative, new and useful ideas come from Heaven.
